Public-Private Partnerships are an increasingly attractive and useful model for financing major projects across Africa.  Under this approach, the private sector brings with it not only financing, but economic rigor and business acumen, whilst the government contributes regulatory frameworks and public administration.

In April, GENI & KEBE staffed worked with Atraxis Group and APIX  (the Senegalese authority for the promotion of investment) to present training on PPPs to a range of representatives from public works agencies AGEOPPE in Guinea Bissau, NIGETIP in Niger and AGETIP in Benin, Mali and Senegal.
Dr Aboubacar Fall assisted with training on the legal aspects of PPPs.  He commented: “By gathering PPP actors from the region and sharing practical experiences of developing successful PPPs, we are working together to promote effective and efficient PPP projects in the region.”

Mouhamed kebe joins isfin board to consolidate west africa

In a move to better equip Senegal’s National Fire Brigade, China has loaned Senegal 20 billion CFA (approximately USD 34 million) through the China Export-Import Bank. GENI & KEBE acted as local counsel for the transaction.
The loan agreement was signed by the Minister of Economy, Finance and Planning, Mr Amadou Bâ and the Vice-President of the China EXIM Bank, Mr Yuan Xingyoun on 17 March 2016.
