Louisa Gibbs

Special Counsel

Louisa is an Australian foreign investment lawyer with a particular interest in the energy sector. She works closely with our junior lawyers on professional development initiatives to ensure ongoing quality in English language transactions and those matters which interact with common law principles. Prior to moving to Senegal, Louisa has lived and worked in Australia, Vietnam, Korea and Solomon Islands.

Mame Ngoné Sow

Senior Associate

Bringing years of work experience in Canada and the USA back to her home town of Dakar, Mame works with foreign investors to ensure that they understand the legal requirements and opportunities in their corporate transactions.

Mohamed Dieng


Joining the firm in 2003, Mohamed acts as a legal adviser and litigator on commercial, energy and labour law matters. He completed his post-graduate study in Switzerland and understands well the expectations and experiences of foreign organisations operating in Africa.

Fodé Sarr


Fodé’s strong understanding of the investment climate in the region helps him to provide practical advice to clients on land and construction law issues, as well as general corporate transactions. He is based in the firm’s Mbour office.

Mbaye Seck


Based in the firm’s Mbour office, Mbaye practices insurance, personal injury, property and administrative law. He also works as part of our tax law team and assists with coordination of matters between the firm’s Dakar and Mbour offices.

Boubacar Diakité

Counsel and Office Manager

Boubacar joined GENI & KEBE in 2009 after working for the West African Reserve Bank. He brings practical experience to his work, advising clients on strategic banking and corporate transactions including establishment of businesses and mergers & acquisitions. Boubacar also acts as practice manager for the diverse work of our Corporate Team.

Absatou Ndiaye Samaké


Absatou specailses in corporate transactions, particularly company incorporations and mergers & acquisitions. She also assists government clients with legislative drafting tasks and private sector clients with legal due diligence work.

Hassane Koné


Originally from Côte d’Ivoire, Hassane practices in corporate, labour and energy law. He has recently undertaken a 3 month secondment with our affiliate firm in Ghana to build his regional knowledge.

Ismaël Itoua


Hailing from Congo, Ismaël brings regional expertise to our Energy Law Team. He has previously worked as in-house counsel with the Senegalese Environment Office for Mining and Geology and works on our major energy projects.

Damiens Aw

Counsel, Labour Law

Damiens is a graduate of the Senegalese National Institute of Administration Employment Law Section and heads our Labour Law Team. Damiens combines legal advice with practical guidance for clients, based on his years of experience as a labour inspector and human resources director in both the public and private sectors.

Abou Sarr

Counsel, Tax Law

Abou holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law and a Masters in Taxation and has completed further study with the Research Centre for Social and Participative Emergence and Kalamazoo College in the USA. Abou is registered for professional practice with the National Order of Experts and Appraisers of Senegal and has a solid practice in legal and tax advice.

Sally Mamadou Thiam


Prior to joining GENI & KEBE in 2014, Saly was the Chief Registrar at the District Tribunal of Dakar. He is an attorney before the Senegalese Bar and appears before the courts on a wide range of matters, from commercial disputes, to intellectual property matters, to maritime law claims.

Rahimine Touré


Rahimine commenced with the firm in 2013 as part of our “Opportunities for Young Graduates” program. He works on commercial, corporate and labour law matters.

Bakary Traoré

Finance Director

Bakary is the firm’s Finance Director. He has practical, hands-on experience in applying the Seengalese Tax Code to business interests and managing relationships with the Tax Office. Bakary is available to help clients navigate tax calculations and payments.
